Selling my Portland duplex. Perfect house hack! Live in one side and rent out the other. We bought this in 2015 and renovated both sides. New paint, new laminate flooring, new tiles in the bathrooms. Attached garage for each unit. 2 nice parks each 5 minute walk away. Less that 10 minute walk to light rail transportation. Tenants are on a 1 year lease till June. They are AMAZING! always pay on time, and not a single complaint.

Selling because we are moving out of state. Will post pictures very soon.

I agree with Ritchie Metzler . Talk to a mortgage broker first and maybe see how much you can get pre-approved for that way you know what you can afford. If you need a good mortgage broker that works with investors, I can hook you up with the guy I used. Message me. A lot of people bash on FHA loans, but if your quick and smart, you can land a deal no problem. Last year I bought a duplex in Portland with an FHA loan. I submitted my offer the day after the property came up on the MLS. I offered full price as well.

@Richard Balsam Awesome advice! I will look into that. I have family in Gwinnett county, so I'll ask around about traffic too. Thanks boss.

I was looking at Gwinnett and Forsyth counties, but at this point just about anything will work.

Hi BP. I'm Looking for 2/2 or 2/1 unit. My wife and I are planning to move from Portland to Atlanta/suburbs at the end of this month and need a place to live. I have not found a job there yet, but have really good job history as a CNC Machine Operator and Precision Lead. Finding a place to live there has become my #1 priority. I have a large amount of cash saved up that will buy me time to find a job. I also own and manage a Duplex here in Portland that provides $750/mo net income. If you are a commercial property owner in need of an onsite maintenance guy, I have handyman experience. I renovated both duplex units inside. I painted, installed laminate, tiles, fixtures, plumbing etc...

I have no pets and don't smoke.

In need of a bank that will provide a HELOC. I'm in the Portland Oregon area. I own a duplex with over 20% equity and would like to get some cash out for down payment for future fix and flips. Anyone know a bank that will do this? I need some recommendations! Thanks all in advance.

Hi Cindy Margheim I found a duplex in SE Portland on the MLS last year that was under-valued. I offered full price for it the same day it was posted. The seller counter-offered changing some conditions and about $5k more which I quickly accepted. I renovated both units and brought up rents. Now it meets the 1% rule. It took me 3 months to find though! And I had to act fast. There were 3 other offers on the property the day after I submitted mine. So you're right. It's definitely very active due to the limited housing supply.
