Actually this and the fact that China has loaned money hand over fist to the US that they will most likely never see again has marked their demise. Much as the US has put itself in that position by loaning tons of money to 3rd world country's that they will never see again. But hey, we were nice to enough to outsource all of jobs to them so they shouldn't mind including us as their welfare recipients.

I know of several RE agents who are also investors. When doing a short sale that they have negotiated with the bank and then turn around and sell to an end buyer, they are perfectly within their right to pick up that split. BUT not the commission from the sale. They can be either or but not both.

Louis, thanks for the input. I have already discovered during my escapades with SFHs that I do not want to be a hands on landlord. A good property management firm is a necessity for me no matter what type of property it is.

Hey Eddie -

Your posts get a million thumbs-up from me (love 'em!), but this is as bad as what Tim does to me...

Let's not assume that because someone is conservative it means that they are fanatical or that they loved (or even liked) Bush...

Wouldn't want you stooping to Tim's level of critical thinking...

Yes, you're right, The only reason I comment about it is because if I remember correctly, Karen defended Bush ferociously during one of the arguments and again, if I'm not mistaken, it was with you...

Hmmm. I don't remember this. I am not, however, above defending him on something he did right. I don't disagree with all that he did and I certainly don't feel he is the demon most make him out to be. I think he did what he thought was best in most cases however much I might have disagreed with them. I wouldn't have wanted to be the one making some of those decisions and like he said somebody had to.

I think anarchist might be the closest you'll come if you're looking for a label. As J Scott mentioned earlier, sometimes the label don't fit.

Seriously though, no Republican president we have had since Reagan fit the term conservcative. Conservatives do not want big government. Both Bush Sr. and Jr. pushed hard for that. They were both globalist. I don't want big government. Big government means big corruption. Just look at the news. I'd like to see more control turned over to the states. I feel the closer the government is to the people the more it is what the people want. One of the major complaints you'll hear me iterate in these forums is a growing centralized government that is degrading the rights of the people in this country.

Although I can understand your argument about less government (Agreeing or not) I don't understand why handing more power and control to the state make it better? States are government as well and if corruption is your concern, corruption in State and local government is much more wide spread then in the federal level.

My belief on this is that state governments are not only smaller but are voted in by the people in that local region. Therefore they are more in touch with what the people really want. It is also easier to get them out at the state level if they are not performing. It seems when we elect our so called representative and send them off to Washington, they are representing the lobbyist instead of all of the people at the state level.

Sounds like the label I would also apply to myself -- "Constitutionalist"...

Very good! I've heard a number of people that believe along the same lines that I do use that term. I spend a good bit of time studying Constitutional Law and as I mentioned earlier, teaching other people about it. Those that don't understand the value of our freedom and who want to listen. I never try to force my ideas or opinions on anyone but there are a lot of people out there who really don't know anything about our Constitution. And its one of the reasons I mentioned the book earlier. It is a factual description of the process our founding fathers followed and the ideologies they meant to uphold when the Constitution was written.

No, as Jawsette made a point of noting, it is a Republic, not a Democracy. And I've waited 4 years and another 4 years and another and the change I see is only for the worse.
.

Well, it may be a Republic but the process is still democratic... Explain to me which of the four years you have waited. I thought you were in haven in the past eight. Weren't you?

I don't know where in the hell you would get that idea. God, I guess I have to go back and explain the difference between Conservative and Republican again.

J Scott don't be offended by my off brand of humor. It is never meant to offend. It's meant to bring a smile or a laugh and lighten the mood.
