@Gabriel R. Welcome from 3000 miles away.  Isn't it cool how we can network from so far away?  Anyway this site is definitely an awesome resource between  the learn and resources section and the people on the forum.

The local REIA is also a good resource networking and learning more. There may be a BP Meetup in your area which is another great resource. We have one here in CT and I know there is one in NY as well. If there is not one near you consider starting one.

Some other things you may want to consider:

Speak to a local money guy.  I spoke to one and he filled in a lot of holes for me.

Shadow another wholesaler.  I have not done this yet although I have spoken with quite a few.

Hope that helps

@Jonathan Makovsky I attend another networking group (not real estate) where the host has everyone sign in on an iPad.  He then sends out the list to everyone a few days later so that people can communicate with each other if they did not have a chance at the networking event (with the understanding that the list is not to be used for your own mailing list).

It helps with larger groups because not everyone gets to talk to everyone they wanted to talk to.  And of course if someone does not want to sign in they don't have to.

I'm there.  Can't wait.  I began direct mails and other marketing last week.  Hope to have a deal by the meet-up.  Everyone can also sign up for the meetup at http://www.meetup.com/Central-CT-REI-Meetup/events....

@Jonathan Makovsky Can we set up a mailing list for this meeting?

Using the Power Editor you can drill down to specific States, Cities and Zip Codes.  I am looking at a specific Zip Code for a buyer who has indicated he wants property there.  You can also select house types so I am focusing on multi-family for now, there's not a lot of SF in that area anyway.

You can drill down to a lot of demographics using the power editor.

I just sent out some direct mailers, very targeted ones at that.  It is my first attempt at marketing for wholesaling.

I am a marketer by day and I am very aware that it takes multiple touches to reach people so I figured I would place an ad on Facebook as well.  Again the ad is very targeted to specific neighborhoods and types of property.

I am just wondering if anyone has had any luck using Facebook ads in the past?

Thanks @Jonathan Makovsky It was an awesome turn out and I look forward to next month.  Easily 30 plus people in the room networking and getting to know each other.  Building trust and learning is how we can all succeed.  Glad to meet everyone that I met.

I agree that inactivity can be a killer, online and in real life.  If you are not participating then expect to stay on the side lines.
