I've been noticing a house that has been for sale for quite some time in a great up and coming neighborhood within the north Chicago area.  I've done a little research on it and it looks like it will be up for auction next month.  Can this house be purchased prior to it going out for auction?  How do you guys think I should approach this situation?  I'm open to all advise and suggestions.   Thanks in advance.

Welcome @Jacob Rozansky. I am also new to the BP community. Much like you, I was a construction management major and my interest in real estate started during my senior year back in 2011.  So far exploring the network has been great!! 

@Natasha Keck Being a contractor is actually what ignited my interest in the real estate industry. I often run into other contractors that are builders for real estate investors.
