If you are entirely new to Real Estate, I would follow Russell Brazil's suggestion of a larger named brokerage.  You are getting lower splits but the training programs offered are great.  I am affiliated with Coldwell Banker, there are additional perks and benefits that come with a larger company.  Ask about such when you look into different brokerages.

Welcome Carlos,

Where in the DC area are you located?  I am a MD licensed Realtor and have worked a lot in Anne Arundel, PG, Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary's Counties.

Additionally, please read and heed Mr. Parrish's comment. He makes a lot of good points and brought up some serious questions.  This industry has enough trust issues from the public, I became a Realtor because the agents and others that I tried to work with did not listen to me or operated in a way that was less than stellar in my opinion.  Aside from hard work put these thoughts to work - Integrity First, Listen to the clients/sellers/buyers, and treat all persons involved in any transaction with Respect and Dignity.

Happy Investing,

Rich

Mr. Carl, your struggles are the exact reason why I stay south of the city.  If you are willing to look around south of Baltimore - Anne Arundel, Prince George's, Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary's counties are far less frustrating to work in.
