A rep named Steve Martin told that I would have a problem getting my $2,500 back if they decided not to fund my project.  He said they would consider my money an investment in their company.  He would not consider allowing me putting the initial $2,500 payment into escrow until they decided to fund my project.  The guy was moving really fast and asking for my credit card.  I'm still doing my due-diligence, but I'm getting a really bad feeling about these guys so be very careful.

I would definitely stay away from condominiums due to the unpredictable fees associated with maintenance.  If you find the right house and up-and-coming neighborhood, you would either realize good price appreciation or a good rental market, additionally the tax benefits of a single-family house or more predictable than with a condominium.
