based on your response, it appears that you support the government's original intent.

In a completely unrelated topic, I'm wondering if you agree with Mao's and Hitler's policies? Just curious. Perhaps they are just misunderstood?

This is nancy pelosi and obama attempting to justify the original intent of the bill. Jason, doesn't this make you angry at all?

Agreed that beck should have checked the version of the bill for that day, however there's no doubt that the original intent of the bill included that implied language.

It's republicans and other bigots who keep the focus on Mexicans only. You think all terrorists are American now? I may not like that immigrants get our resources but many of them sure as heck work way harder than any American I know. I wish we could trade, send lazy Americans across the border for hard working immigrants. The world would be a totally different place.

Funny how when you posted this, nobody had mentioned Mexicans yet.

So republicans are bigots and contractors hit their wives...brainwashed by liberals lately?

Also, you seem to support open borders, but admit that terrorists are not typically American. Why wouldn't terrorists just come over the Southern border if we allow this to happen? Any terrorist with a brain could just walk right in, and we'll be there with open arms (and a social security check).

in a totally unrelated story, I heard the government will require everyone to wear brown shirts with "community organizer" screen printed on the back.

Having been a firefighter (not a paramedic), I've seen a lot of "stuff". While not on a rig, I've given CPR to an accident victim...who later died. that was harder then most of the stuff I saw on the rig. I still think about that day, and that was 10 years ago.

On the other hand, I had the exiting experience of delivering my baby boy in our driveway.

Two extreme situations on different spectrums...but both make you really think about your own life.

I guess it's just the way life is.

Whoops, looks like I was confused...

I thought you implied that you were trying to make a social statement and take action against violence (in your words, "to really hope that the violence ends").

That seemed like an altruistic and admirable topic that I would love to have been part of...

But, now you've clarified that you're just asserting "politically charged" and partisan beliefs.

I'm not really interested in discussing violence from the perspective of someone who has a purely political motivation (random political opinions from random people don't really interest me), so I'll let you continue this one without me...

Thank you for clarifying your intents...sorry I misinterpreted earlier...

True to form, you've taken something out of context to spin it in your direction. How predictable.

I'm sorry to see that you are turning down the invite...was it the beer comment that did it? Perhaps a wine spritzer would be more appropriate?

I've seen this reported in many news outlets, and they all indicated that it was an oil exec's house. Can you give a couple examples of media outlets that failed to mention this?

Perhaps post a few links?

-to really hope that the violence ends.

Although I don't see a realistic end to the second point, it was a nice thought (at least I think so). Not sure what's so wrong with that.

There's nothing at all wrong with that.

I just find it interesting that you've never posted any stories about violence in the past in the hopes that you could somehow stop violence. And as you pointed out, this was in the political forum, which indicated to me that your message was political, not social.

That's why I didn't understand. But thank you for clarifying...

I guess I'll look forward to future posts about violence from you in order to try to achieve your goal (hopefully in the off-topic section instead).

Just out of curiosity, what other efforts are you making to stop violence besides posting on BiggerPockets?

Thank you, btw...less violence is always good thing...as is taking action on right social injustice...

the morning I read the news story, I also looked at an ABC (for sure) column and an NBC (I think, if I recall correctly) column...the stories I read at the time did not report that it was an oil exec's house. I don't feel a need to prove this to anyone, I'm an honest guy. I do believe that most networks have now been forced to report the details in this particular case.

I have posted about violence in the past...specifically an extremely comprehensive study done for the government about violence from the left. This was quickly moved to the polical group forum, where hot topics go to die. Please feel free to check it out. It is lengnthly but worth the read. I tend to focus more on violence from the left because, IMO, it goes largely under-reported or not reported in the main stream media.

Besides posting on biggerpockets about violence, I also share thoughts and ideas in social gatherings about this topic. We discuss current events, including violence from both sides and what should be done to stop it. I would be happy to have you over to my house if you are interested in joining these discussions. I have friends from all across the political spectrum. We like to disagree while having a beer or two. Again, you are always welcome.

I could go on, but I'm not sure that everyone is as interested in my personal life as you are. Since, however, this is a political forum, I will continue to go against the herd mentality in modern society by posting politically charged events that are of interest to me. In hindsight, however, this particular post should have been put in the off topic section. I won't let you down in further posts.

Have a great day.
-Rich

From an analytical perspective, that's a perfect way to put it...

Idiot and violent ideologues have been around for a long, long time, and based on this, they're clearly still around...

Do you disagree with either of those points?

I agree with those points, Jason. The purpose of my original point was twofold...

-to point out some very important information left out of a lot of news media outlets (about it being an oil exec's house)
-to really hope that the violence ends.

Although I don't see a realistic end to the second point, it was a nice thought (at least I think so). Not sure what's so wrong with that. Maybe I should have posted this is in the off topic section.

He could be the bomb czar. I could then be friends with him for years but deny that I knew him. Maybe I'll visit one of the classes he teaches in IL. I'm sure he's a great public educator.
