Post: How can I find potential homes to rehab and flip?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could help me in giving tips as to how to start out to find potential good opportunities for a rehab and flip. I am totally new to this, and have about 20K saved up. I hear that I should drive around to find potential motivated sellers, but where will I know where to look? I also heard I can get a list of motivated sellers by smaller banks in my area. Any help would be appreciated in tips to start out.

Thanks!

Thanks Jon! There actually is a door that leads directly to the basement. There are also 3 windows already in place.

Hi everyone, first time poster here and somewhat of a novice investor! I am part of a condo association with 3 other people. My basement is unfinished and is shared with my neighbor. My thought is to buy his share from him and then put some money into it and turn it into a 1 bedroom apartment, sell it, and add it to our condo association. Other than getting permission from the others in my association, is this something that is even legal? Would I need to consult the town first? Appreciate any help I can get!
