I am a newbie- so maybe I just don't know how to do this... When I signed up for biggerpockets, I did it thinking I was signing up with the business name.. But, found out soon after creating the profile, that I needed to create a business profile. After explaining that, I have two quesitons at this moment- 1) How do I change the profile pic from or make both profiles with that pic? 2) Is it possible to get the people that I have already connected with in my personal profile and connect them to my business profile? for example, I can't seem to manage to figure out how to send my business info to my already established contacts....Please help! Thank you!

I am glad you brought the subject up. Too often, we as humans take an experience and treat it like it is a disease! ... ie... I went to this one meeting, and it was full of gurus and I hated it... Then we have "I-hate-reia-meetings-disease" because of that one experience! I am glad my husband and I decided to go! the cool thing was it was FREE to go! Once we went, we soon realized all the potential! We didn't even have to give a second thought to becoming members! I would be honored if I was asked to help out at the weekly meetings. They have a committee board.. Its just so awesome to have so many people in the same room come from ALL difference aspects of RE! EVEN IF the room was full of newbies,,, IMHO, it would be worth it to attend! IF we didn't end up liking that REIA... I promise this... we would have continued searching for a place to be around fellow- wanna-make-money-AND-help-people-while-doing-it folks!!!!

@Carlos Flores

Thank you for your post! I appreciate your mentioning HD because I believe that with my REIA membership, we get discounts, but I am not sure exactly how! Everytime we go, we intend on asking, but always slips our minds!

I ABSOLUTELY attend every meeting with my local REIA and my husband and I ARE members! Yes, given we are new to RE, we want to connect with every source possible to make our business a success! However, I feel very blessed that my local REIA is nothing like what most of you have commented about yours! There is NO ONE selling anything... The speaker is just taking some experience, and put it into a presentation and every time we go, we learn something new! In fact, there hasn't been a meeting yet that we didn't get a feeling of success from! EVEN if we didn't learn anything (Impossible)... Its invaluable to hang around and get to connect and network.. You are what you hang around... business-minded individuals.. WE LOVE GOING. Its the one day of the week we look forward to... Im so sorry that some of yalls REIAS don't give you the same quality. I am part of TRIAD REIA. I really couldn't ask for a better group! Thank you for bringing this question out!

To anyone who hasn't had success with your local reia... Perhaps, you might try driving to one a little further out. It just MIGHT be worth it. It was the best $150 my husband and I have EVER INVESTED!

Post: Holes cut through hardwood floors

@Mike D.

The subfloor damaged the hardwood. Check the distance between the nails nailing down the subfloor... If there are more than 12 nails per sheet of plywood, then the hardwood would be damaged... Wood putty to cover them up, but it will look funny..

There are two reasons why someone would cut the hardwood to go to the crawlspace. 1- intake used to be put on the floor 2- someone just wanted to have access to it for whatever reason...

It's probably cheaper for you to cover with vinyl/laminate...

For someone to have done all that, they would have changed the height of the doorways.... if you take off the 1/2 or 1/4 plywood, then 1/2 inch carpet, you are looking at atleast an inch difference, there's going to be crack under the door.

*don't forget to check the damage of the old flooring, probably the reason it was covered up to begin with... water damage, termites...??

( this comes from my husband who is a professional hardwood installer/finisher)

@Brian Gibbons

Thank you!

@Dev Horn

I like Warren Buffett's quote you provided! He will always say yes! In terms of what we need to do first... Thank you for the list.. That helps dramatically when trying to organize... and then not really knowing what I am organizing... Anyhow.. That's awesome! Wholesaling might be easy money to some, but believe me, it has proven to be a business I need to know before trotting into it! I totally believe I have the confidence and capability of achieving my goals... I am not a quitter. My husband happens to be a handyman and as being such, might also give us other ideas... Thank you very much for your effort to put that response together. I am always open for comments and suggestions and knowledge.! I will use your checklist as a checklist...

@Bill Gulley

Thank you for reminding me to be cautious... I read in one of the forums that you don't get what you don't ask for! SO.. They said the reason why most people that don't have mentors, don't have mentors, is simply because they didn't ask for one! Im sure we will network and connect with many who can help in guiding our path while we in turn help them in other ways. Thank you for your time!

@Andrew S.

Thank you for Karen's name... I will look her up.. I appreciate you referring me.

@Dell Schlabach

I couldn't agree more! We know we want to learn wholesaling... we also know we want to learn rehabbing... (due to the fact that my husband knows a lot of handyman ins and outs... We could potentially learn both simultaneously without losing comeplete focus on wholesaling.) Thank you very much for sharing all that information. We know we have a lot to learn... But, whatever it takes, we are there.

@Aaron Montague

Thank you! I have been trying to do that! I have been listening to podcasts that give me great ideas on how to find leads. what I need to find now, are investors, and I need to find out what they are looking for. Thank you very much!

@Scott E.

Growing up, I was always told that I cant get what I don't ask for! SO, I asked! It didn't hurt anything! Actually, it has gotten very wonderful responses with very different views that has helped my husband and I tremendously! who knows! we might find one. But, I won't focus too much on that. I will just focus in on all the great advice and opinion from all of yall and take what can be used! Like-minded people have been what has helped us out since day one. You are and become what you hang around!

@Jason Eyerly

Thank you for the encouragement! We will continue to strive to make ourselves stand out!

@Paul Timmins

Thank you! I needed that... I appreciate that! I am sure a few will show up
