There's already meetings with the mayor of san juan to strict short term rentals. At some point we will have but dont know to how much extend they will go.

This company appears to evict, inspect and maybe do some mini repairs to banks. Does anyone know the estimate (time) that takes the home to be listed for sale by the bank?

I find it weird because the home im interested has the "Five Brothers" sign for almost 2-4 years and still nothing. Not sure what to do.

Hi. It really depends if you want to live in the tourist area or you are ok a bit outside but in San Juan. Also depends if you're looking for a home or apartment.
If you only looking in San Juan, then everyone will probably recommend: Old San Juan, Miramar, Condado, Ocean Park or Isla Verde. (all walkable areas)
Outside the regular recommendations there are very good neighborhoods about 6-12 min drive.

Sent you a PM. Feel free to ask anything.

Welcome back to PR.
I've been doing the same, Driving around neighborhoods in San Juan for quite some time. Havent bought my 1st but planning to start in early 2021.
Its really hard to find the owner on abandoned homes. Goverment doesnt help in any way. The most you can do is thru neighbors or using the catastro.
House Hacking is ok as long as you find good tenants.
A la orden siempre...

Has anyone being part of goverment expropriation to build some infrastructure projects?

Do they pay over market value or not?

Any good or bad stories...

@Rax Gupta cash on cash return on investment looks like very low.
I recommend going to the biggerpockets youtube channel and look for: "Calculating numbers on a Rental Property using the four square method"

I dont recommend investing in Memphis if you're new and living in Cali. Always start close to home.

Congrats Victor. I think the 2 parking space is really rare in that area

I see you sergio... Very happy for you. Someday will have to meet
