San Juan area, Puerto Rico Connections For First-Time Homebuyer?

I recently accepted a job offer at the VA hospital in San Juan, PR and will be moving at the start of the year from Utah. Does anyone here live or have experience with real estate in this area? I know the process is a little different than on the mainland. Ideally, we would like to purchase a multifamily or large Single Family that would give us the option to "house hack" and rent out a unit or 2 on AirBnB. We want to be in a safe area but not too far from my work site. I've yet to see how much mortgage we could prequalify for but we likely couldn't afford anything over $300,000.
