Hi @Deanna Bennett,

What do you think of the Des Moines market right now compared to some other midwestern cities? It's obviously smaller than STL, KC, Omaha in that area but do you see opportunities in buy and hold there? I'm originally from Dubuque and wouldn't be opposed to investing in Iowa if the right opportunity comes along.

Welcome David,

I'm new to the site as well. All the information here can be overwhelming at first but it's a fantastic resource and everyone is really willing to reach out and help us newbies. Best of luck to you.

@Dexter Wallace I'm in the same boat as you. I've been researching TK investments for the past few months. I fall on the side with Ali in that I'm still learning a lot and think it would be great to have a bit more hand-holding going through the first purchase with a provider that is well respected and knows what they are doing. I also live in a market right now that is probably slightly over-valued so out-of-area investing seems like a good choice for me.

Thanks for all the great suggestions! Can one just show up or is there an RSVP process?

I currently own my home and have no plans to move in the near future. I'd like to buy a long-term hold investment property which means I'll need to come up with 20-25% for a down-payment. Assuming I can do this, what steps would I need to take to finance the next property? What sorts of creative financing can one do to generate those 20% down-payments more than once every couple of years?

I know I'm way ahead of myself here, but I'm just trying to figure out how people accomplish this.

Hello,

I'm new to the site and new to REI. I've seen a few Meet-Up Groups related to REI and I've attended 1 so far with plans for another tomorrow. I'm wondering if there is a Denver group on BP that I could join?

In my area there are several builders that have done a lot of projects. David Weekley (sp?), Wonderland, KB Homes, Infinity are all very popular in the NE part of Denver.
