Hi, Amit:

Akron houses a University, so anywhere within walking distance would make for a great opportunity for a rental.  In some cases, you may be able to rent out individual rooms, rather than leasing the entire home.  I'm an attorney that handles Summit County's tax lien foreclosures and would be happy to pass a couple along for your review.  Obviously, tax lien foreclosure properties means that you're buying "as is", but can often times make for decent investments if you have someone looking at the properties for you.

There are a number of good neighborhoods around Akron that have housing inventory that meets your 40-60K range.

Private Message me if you'd like to discuss further.  If not, good luck!

Paul

@Account Closed - great idea.  I'm an attorney handling several hundred of these cases in Ohio and looking to buy my first property next week at Sale.  Getting to the owner pre-sale and having either a long time tenant (prior owner) or a house at a great discount is very good.

I'm from Cleveland and based on what little I know about that property, I'd steer clear.  Bedford isn't as hot of an area as some other Cleveland suburbs like Lakewood for investments.

Talk to a good mortgage officer. I've got a guy. Private message me and I'd be happy to pass on his info. He'll know how to qualify. Paul

A great appraiser I refer a lot to for legal work is Pete Mizeres from Detailed Home Inspections.   If you'd like, I'll let him know you'll call @Chris Sean.

Hey All! I'm an attorney in Cleveland looking to get into the investment fun. Happy to meet with fellow NE Ohio folks to discuss game plans for starters. Any insight is much appreciated. I have experience with tax lien sales and foreclosures, so looking for others interested in going after those types of opportunities.
