I Have been investing in lending club for about a year now, I started with the bare minimum which is 1K. so far I have made about 3.5% Return, which for me is better than nothing. It is my goal to eventually move the funds into a more ROI friendly platform, I started investing constantly about a year ago. I do automatic investing and reinvest my profits.

Hey BP,

It has been such a long time since my last post, however, I want to take my RE game to a different level. I want to start a Hard Money/ Commercial Broker business. I already have the lenders in place, it is my goal to eventually fund my own deals, but I know I can only broker them at the moment. What things do I need to consider? how do I go about getting deals?

Hey Tricia,

I would suggest attending some meetups and acclimate yourself with investor-friendly realtors, although driving for dollars can yield you some good leads if done properly. I find the best leads are those that come from referrals, Real Estate attorneys, realtors, CPA's, Financial Advisors.

Congratulations on taking the plunged!

I am fairly new in the real estate industry and investing arena. Although I keep learning a lot I have not taken the plunge as of yet. Although, I am a passive RE investor with fundrise, which is not bad as of right now. At the company, I work with we are affiliated to a RE hedge Fund, which is pretty sweet if you need the financing, capital or if you do not have the capital we could take over the deal and pay you a 25% of the net profit once we sell it.

There's a lot that can be learned about real estate for free and you may find that the niche you're interested in may not really make a real estate license worthwhile. Figure out what you want to do and then figure out whether a real estate license would help enable that. Best of luck to you and thanks for your service!

Not at all, i appreciate your input! I have been learning so much! I am eager to learn, invest and grow with you guys!

Hi biggerpockets community!! My name is Orlando De Los Santos, I am 23 years old. I was born in Dominican Republic. I came to the United States at the age of 14 to finish school and get my college education. I served in the Marines Corps, and I am currently a Business Consultant for a consulting firm based of off saddle brook, NJ. What sparked my interest in real state was its ability to build long term wealth if done correctly. In addition to using that as a stepping stone to build and create a foundation that is self funded through the real state investments. I do not have any previous experience in real state, and I am inclining towards getting my real state license just to educate myself better and to start on the right foot on my investment journey.
