Hi all!
Newbie to REI! I'm a 35 year-old husband to an amazing wife, father to the best two kids ever, brother, son, mentor, mentee, friend, Jesus freak. I'm a passionate, motivated, career ladder climber looking for an exit from corporate life. I'm an accounting / finance professional with a CPA license working in high tech. Love to network and build relationships.
Experience: I only have two transactions to date:
1) Bought a SFH rental in 2014 for $179K ($36K down), rented it for $200-$300 cash flow positive per month, and sold it in 2016 for $250K.
2) Took the proceeds from #1 and put 20% down to buy a SFH in a desirable area (Hillsboro, OR) with young professionals, families, great schools and lots of growth. Currently living in this SFH (relocated from Bay Area, Cali) while we plan out our next investment.
Had literally no investment experience or knowledge with these transactions, but after seeing what could be done with a little common sense (and good timing), I'm optimistic about what can be done with more experience and knowledge.
Life goals:
1) To spend more time with my family
2) To give back to family, friends and society (philanthropy)
3) To volunteer my time to great causes
4) To invest in great ideas
5) Leave a legacy for those I love
Real Estate goals:
1) Hustle and do what it takes to meet my life goals
2) Still planning my ideal REI strategy, but it ultimately would involve having a large portfolio of cash flow positive properties to live off and continue to fund investments. I'm interesting in the the BRRRR method of investing, but still have so much to learn.
Currently seeking:
Buy-and-hold multi-family opportunities in areas with young professionals, families and great schools (currently in Hillsboro, OR). Interested in the BRRRR method of investing.
Seeking advice from anyone that's willing to provide it.
