I have an attic that already has a bathroom, and heating. I see a lot of houses on my block that have dormers, air conditioner in the attic windows and looks like its occupied.

Is it possible to convert my house from 2 family to 3 family by adding dormer, a small kitchen, and second stairs?

This will bring me at least $900 per month extra. or I would actually move into it and rent my current apartment for $1300. Do you think this is all worth the expense? I'm guessing it will cost me about 25k?

Thanks everyone.

Can I just cut the branches that are in my yard? The neighbor doesn't maintain his backyard at all.

I can't believe how much information is on this website and it's mostly free!

My dream is to become a landlord of 50 multifamily homes in New Jersey (average multifamily house in a good neighborhood is around $30,000).

Anyway I have 1 of 50 so far! Now I can't get any more because debt to income ratio is high.

After spending couple of days reading information on this website. I decided it's best to start off wholesaling to build capital.

I have couple of questions.

  1. Isn't it better to find buyers first before sellers? See what they are looking for?
  2. How do you find cash buyers?

Post: Bought first multifamily, now how can I get another?

Hello all,

New to the forum, new home owner (2 years), new landlord (2 years).

I bought my first 2 family house in 2011. I live in one apartment and rent the other one. I hardly got approved for FHA loan that I currently have because of my income. Thank God it went through! My question to you guys is;

How can I obtain more loans to purchase properties. I would like to get more properties to rent out.
