I debated making this post. However, I am curious to get input from those who have experience in investing. I started researching and investing in January 2024 and purchased my first investment property in March 2024. While continuing to do research, I have been sent emails and attended webinars where they offer paid mentorships. The question for seasoned investors is, are mentorships worth their cost, or is doing your own research just as good?  If you support mentorships and would like to suggest one, please do and I will look into it. Thank you

@David Ning As someone who has been working the Indianapolis market and surrounding areas for the past 14 of my 20 years. I have seen the good and the bad, I have watched some of the biggest names here in Indy get started and have helped most of them in some form or fashion. 

Do not get sucked into these people commenting or messaging you about "How great the Indy market is and how they can help you." Most of them wouldn't know what an investment property is if it fell on top of them. It is important to have the right but knowledgeable/experienced team in place. 

I recommend Off Leash Construction and @Nick Giulioni team. Nick moved here from California and has built a successful Real Estate business. He knows exactly what it is like to invest from out of state.

Hey there. My wife and I are new to Indianapolis, but we're getting into investing now. We're closing our first fixer at the end of this month, and might be closing on another a few weeks later.

We are using Beau Matlock. I really cannot speak highly enough about him. He seems to be well connected and has an extensive client base.

Hi All

I am interested in purchasing my next multi-family in Indianapolis. I am willing to do a bit of rehab if my agent can recommend a reliable contractor out there as well as a property manager. I have done research in the area but have not purchased anything myself as I primarily invest in Detroit, MI and am looking to expand into other markets. Can anyone recommend an investor-friendly agent (bonus if they can also analyze deals)?
