Post: New to Real Estate Wholesaling

Quote from @Jaden Schmid:

I am and 18 year old and new in the Real Estate Field and recently came across Wholesale Real Estate and found it extremely interested! I am wondering if there is currently anyone in the Wholesale Real Estate Business in the Palm bay or Viera Florida Area with any advice on how to get started or help to get some real experience with the market and clients.

Hi Jaden, I'm an agent in Viera... in Viera specifically, I don't know that there many wholesaling opportunities, if at all.  The market in Viera is so tight that, after 50% appreciation in the past two years, most sellers (even motivated ones) are primed to ask for more than the market value of their home.  South towards Palm Bay, and farther north into Rockledge or beyond, probably have a better chance of finding something.

Hi Matthew,
I'm a REALTOR living just south of you in Viera. I'd been attending an REI meetup but once the pandemic hit it kinda fell apart.

Do you have any thoughts about the direction in which you want to expand your portfolio?  (SF, AirBnB, etc.?)

Me too, about halfway through!

@Account Closed - do you mind detailing the every day process you use when looking at and analyzing properties?  That seems like something I should practice while accumulating capital.  Thanks!

This is awesome. If the BRRR doesn't work out you can become a writer.

I'm not yet an agent but plan to be, so thanks for asking the question for me!

I probably wasn't clear - he was retired.  He drove the cab for fun and to stay active, not because he needed the money.  I suppose he could have been lying, but frankly, I drove Uber and Lyft all last year for the same reasons.  Meet people, show off the city (DC), get out of the house... I loved it.  Made no money but it was better than evening television.  I'm not retired, though.
