Hi @Mathew Wray

Thank you for your service & for sharing your story! Im currently in the USCG but will be transitioning out this coming Aug.

The VA loan has also allowed me to purchase two investment properties. Because of this I've very passionate about educating others on how to use their benefits as a resource to achieve financial freedom.

You bring a very great point on the State VA Loan its such a great resource that so few people are aware of.

Hi everyone,

Looking to connect with other prior service members in the Portland/SW WA area to potentially share investing strategies with VA Loans. Would love to hear your success stories below!

Hi ladies! Real estate investor & agent in Oregon. Would love to connect with other ladies :))

Hi @Ellie Narie

Sorry you are going through this but have you checked with your agent to see if the sellers have already started the eviction process? If not depending on what your situation is & your relationship with the seller you may be able to hold off on writing the offer until at least 30 days have passed from the notice.

Hope this helps

Hi @Joseph Crunkilton that sounds like a great opportunity & best of luck in the purchase process.

I've used Airdna.com as a resource in the past to research current market rates in the locations I'm considering.

Hope this helps!

@Bryan Calzadilla Welcome to Bigger Pockets & congratulations on starting your Real Estate journey! House Hacking is a great strategy & it works for me. I'm currently doing it in the Gresham area and I'm pretty much living for free. I think you can definitely get a multifamily home to house hack in the Portland area, it really just depends on how uncomfortable you are willing to be & creative thinking.

I'd love to chat more & feel free to ask any questions. I love learning more about others house hacking experiences.

Currently in the process of purchasing 12 acres of vacant land in a coastal town in Puerto Rico 15 min away from the beach. My plan is to turn it into an airbnb in the future but while I'm undergoing that I was hoping to gather some other recommendations on what else I can do to make it profitable. I would love to hear others people experience with purchasing raw land. Thanks!
