We’ve owned a cabin in Wears Valley for 6 or 7 years now and I’d continue to buy here. I’ve continued to get bookings into Dec and throughout the “slow” Jan and February months every year. 
The first time we came here was to confirm we wanted it,  post inspection. Every contact I needed for insurance, mortgage and cleaners were done online, mostly through connections from BP. 
We self manage from NY and FL.

This location has proven to be on point.

Today is the day VRBO is discounting your place IF you have not opted out. And today they emailed a marketing message highlighting those homes that “offer” that discount. 
It doesn’t make it easy to opt out either. Frankly, I’m not sure entering a 0 for weekly discount opts me out.

It can’t be that Expedia has any influence at BP. But makes you wonder.

You have great feedback. But what jumped out to me was the immeasurable in terms of dollars:

“But our family has grown!”

I would do it for that reason alone, since your numbers makes sense without that added value.

I’d probably get a new bank. Much lower learning curve and Stessa is great.

It should have been communicated between buyer and seller. 

Maybe, they were “phantom” bookings. 

Bookings do not transfer but there are workarounds already mentioned. 

Probably not a valid reason to break your contract.

Yes. Must be pretty sweet refinance. Can't imagine what the current rate is for that but it's a great way to pull out probably a lot of equity.

There is always that risk. Out east, in the Hamptons and the North Fork, there have always been short term rentals. People have been vacating their homes and renting seasonally for decades. Of course, it has evolved since then into shorter stays. Yes, 100 steps to the bay and a few miles to the ocean. You should come on out to this part of NY sometime!

Probably early on. We do exceptionally well with one on the east end of LI now.
