I'm working on my website now as well, and that's a good question.

On one hand, I may think that it would scare away people who are afraid of being put on another mass email list,
but on the other hand, I guess it would weed out the people who weren't serious anyway, and get you the emails of those who are serious.

Sounds like a good idea... anyone else have advice who has already done this (or not done it for a reason?)

I've been thinking of placing them on vacant lots.. there are fences on a couple of lots around me, do you ask permission of the owner, or just do it?

I should probably get an easier phone number, that's true!

Thanks, I'll try that.
Have you ever gotten in trouble for the signs? I just called the city of Los Angeles, and they said its not legal to post them ANYWHERE.
I know you can do friday- sunday, but if the guy doesn't take them all down or something, can you get fined?

I'm looking to get some bandit signs, but I KNOW that I'm never going to climb trees or cross freeways to nail them/ glue them/staple them, and I've heard that there are bandit sign placement companies. Just wondering if anyone can recommend some (I'm in So Cal). I've found this one website,
www.thesignbandits.com and either I'm blind or I just cant find any sort of contact info for them on their website, but I'm also sceptial of a "nationwide" placement service.

Anyway, looking for bandit sign placement referals if you have any!

Sooner or later you'll start pissing people off with your signs. Don't worry, that's normal, it's just the nature of the beast. The last thing you want to happen is for your local authorities to call Bandit Signs.com and force them to disclose your contact information.

Now Bandit Signs.com says they will never do that to their clients and I believe them. However, they have to follow the law and if push comes to shove, in the end, they'll have to cooperate with the authorities.

Maybe I'm missing something, but can't they just call the number on the sign to get to you directly?

I'm just wondering/worried because I want to start putting out signs in my area.

Thanks for your reply. It is R3, so I know that's good. And I will definitely look into a 3rd opinion.

I clicked on your website, and it looks like you do have a squeeze page. How do you feel about it? Did you track your numbers before vs now? I know you get peoples emails, but I'm also afraid it may scare away many people. (I never sign up for websites like that, in any industry). Just wondering how you feel about it. I do like what it says on your page though, quite tempting.

oh, and do you have a seperate site for sellers?

Hmmm thats interesting, I've never heard of that! What makes the difference between a house and a house-condo? Does everyone own their own land?
Creative idea.

I only accidentally voted you up, but I'm sure youdont mind.

I just called the city (thanks that was pretty easily doable advice). They said it would cost about $100/sf to get plans approved, thats $100,000!!

I guess I could rehab them and resell the property with units which are stlil illegal, but the city told me to report the current owner because they need to pay a fine, and I wouldn't want the next buyer to do that to me!
