Trying to understand something here. If I take a disbursement from my company plan 401k after retirement do I have to file a 1099 like I would if it was a solo401k? I guess what I am trying to ask is what is the difference between taking disbursement from the run of the mill 401k and a solo401k? I am getting a solo soon and just wanting to know what will happen in twenty years when I decide  to take payments from either type.

My broker is beside herself for me asking that question and sounds suspiciously like one of our presidential candidates on her answer. IOW, there was no answer at all.

@Jimmy Watson

It could be that the slab has some dips and humps in it. If the tile is two feet or more in length it makes it hard to keep them straight if that is the case.  But 1/2" or more seems like a big problem. Make the offer contingent on inspection.

@Randy Miller

Check some areas if you have time in Creekside or between there and San Marcos. You might be surprised at the appreciation in the next 3 or 4 years. Plus you wont be on the selling/vacant block for long.

In fact if you have one to rent in that area early next year maybe we can work out a deal when I send the crew down there then.

@paul winks

To the layman yes they are the same but there are some exceptions. They will have some in stock LVLs at most lumber stores. Big box of usually special order. I also think it is load bearing just by looking at it.

As to doing it that is up to you. I work exclusively for a large investor now and some of the things he does makes my shake head. But he just seems to make money off of it. I will say that exterior upgrades are one of the last things he does on his residential property. Unless it's roofing as needed or rotted wood. His commercial and industrial it's the first.

just my opinion but most every house I have ever remodeled like that the column is most likely load bearing.

An LVL is laminated veneer lumber. Basically it's OSB glued into a structural beam.

First off, are the doors on a gable end of the house or is there an eave above them. The gable end is less load bearing than the eave end as a general rule. There are many factors to consider here without pictures.

@Daniel Vera Sounds great. I know I can help out in some capacity.

Btw, if you want to "shout out" to a particular person put the @ sign before their name and it will show up in their inbox. It helps because this is a very busy forum and sometimes things get lost in the shuffle.

@Account Closed Yes its a slippery slope. There is really not many [free] places for a landlord to complain about tenants but plenty for tenants to complain about landlords.
