Great info there @Brianna H.  I am a new investor as well, and have been to the last 3 Harris County Auctions, but no luck yet since it is very competitive there.  I am going to keep trying though until I find my first investment property.

@Veena J. Do you invest in Houston as well?

Hello @Rosalinda Flores, welcome to BP!  Lots to learn here, so you need to figure out what area you want to focus in like fix/flip or buy/hold, etc.  Set goals for yourself, ask lots of questions, listen to podcasts, build relationships.  Good luck!

Alright thank you for the tips everyone.  Looks like I have my work cut out for me.  Still lots to learn on MFP investing!

Newbie question here. I was looking at a MF property with 10 units listed for $485,000, however, when I checked the county appraisal site just to get a rough idea of their assessed value, it shows $170K for both assessed and market value. Now I know that SFR and MF properties are valued using a different approach, but why such a big difference in the two prices? What am I missing here? Sorry for sounding like such a novice.
