@Daniel Claroni welcome to bp.  It’s true that multi family is not as abundant in Omaha as single family.  However, I would venture that you would have less competition in acquiring a multi family unit versus single family.  I am a single-family investor,Not by choice but that was the path of least resistance when I first started.  If you are holding for the long term I would say that multifamily is the way to go. Multi family is easier to implement processes as well as the ability to scale versus single family. That’s just my opinion though I’m sure you’ll get plenty more. At the end of the day if you run your numbers correctly and perform proper due diligence you’ll do just fine No matter what path you choose. Good luck! Also, hit me up when you get in Omaha.

Welcome @Account Closed.  If I had the flexibility to do it all over again, I definitely would’ve started house hacking and using my equity to leverage funding for my growth.  With that said, it all depends on what you want and what interests you have.  If you want multi family, I would find a four plex with fha financing and grow from there. If single family is your path, than house hacking would be an ideal start.  A good foundation of podcasts, reading, and @Collin Schwartz’s meetup will make sure you’re prepared for your journey. Remember, everyone is different and there’s not a one size fits all journey. Learn, network, and enjoy!

Awesome story @Brian Washburn!  Do you plan on refinancing or are you looking to pay that loan off in 15 years?

@Collin Schwartz, very inspiring man. I’ll see you on Wednesday.  Keep sharing stories, it helps people like me that find it hard to see the light at the end off the tunnel.  You’ve proven that you’re  not just a great set of pecs, but you have a lot to offer to the real estate community. Lol
