Remains shouldn't take up a box larger than a box for a pair of men's shoes, but maybe she was really big.

You could just ship (illegal through USPS, but a friend shipped her grandma that way regardless) to the seller (or the crematorium) and she's not your problem. If he had problems with her it will be up to him to decide if she should be strewn in the ocean or on the 101. The longer you wait to act the harder it will be.

@Dan Robinson I just make things difficult for myself and go straight to

http://www.dcoz.dc.gov/main.html

then

http://zmap.dcoz.dc.gov/ for the zoning map. The map seems to want to crash, but sometimes I get lucky and it doesn't.

Welcome to BP @Timothy Lewis

You may find the forums and the podcasts here very educational.

Thank you @Waylon Themer for posting this. This sort of thing is why the BP forums provides such an education. It is great to hear the good but it is also very, very, very helpful to hear the bad so we can know what to watch out for and what not to do.

Once again thank you for sharing your story. I hope you will get your money back, some of it at least, and the bad wholesaler will get what he deserves (jail time and fines).

@Elizabeth Nourse hi and welcome to BP.

I went to library school but now it is called information studies or something fancy like that. I'm hoping to use my librarian (Information Specialist or whatever they're calling it) powers on RE. How do you envision using data?

My current research method is focusing on a few neighborhoods and seeing what is going for what and why. Making spreadsheets for past sales, picking out fields (columns) that weigh more to me and adding info that won't/can't be found in the public MLS.

Where do you get these crystal balls? Tarot cards and runes may work just as well.

But seriously is there anything in the air to hint that the market in your part of Georgia is overheated and due for a readjustment?

Ive been seeing more and more flips in DC come to the market way overpriced.  And it is impossible to tell who is at fault in these situations.  Is the flipper just unrealistic in what they think the house will sell for, or is the agent giving them bad information, or is the agent merely telling them what they want to hear to get the listing.

Amen to that brother. Yes, NW and some other parts of the District are hot but not crazy stupid hot.

Is this something insurance covers or is it cheaper in the long run to just deal with it yourself?

Bummer, but thanks for telling your story. Yes there should be a RE Horror Stories section, or RE Cautionary Tales spot.
