@Achi Adamit multi-family is definitely a great way to start. This was my first purchase. Plan is to move into it soon but I want to get into another purchase before I even think about moving into this one.

Congratulations @Jonathan Makovsky. I'm new to the BP community and its great to hear that people really are so friendly and helpful here. Reading your post, #3 caught me off guard until you further indicated just how good of a forum this really is.

@Brian Lee thanks appreciate it. I have a long way to go though. @Kyle Doughty let me know when you're around the way. I'm always willing to help and/or learn myself.

@Mark Nolan

I most definitely plan to try and take full advantage of the learning opportunities available on BP. Thanks for the tip, definitely will begin to check out the podcasts and blogs as well.

I've been looking into this as well. To what I understand, you have to take a 4 hour course or something along those lines. I would like to see if I can get a 15 year loan with low interest and no down payment. I learned about this literally right after purchasing a home. I want to learn more about this and be able to tell my family or possibly look into it further myself.

Hey hows everyone doing?

I came across this site in the past month and have been slowly looking over and learning. I must admit, it's definitely exciting to find a place like this where you're able to learn so much and have the opportunity to network with others in the area.

I'm a 26 year old from Teaneck, and currently work as a Pharmacist in Downtown Jersey City. I recently purchased my first 2 family home in Clifton NJ and plan on moving in within the next year or 2. I'm new to the real estate world and know that there is so much to learn, and a site like this has honestly been a great plus to my RE education. I ideally want to get into purchasing and holding for steady cashflow, focusing more on 2-4 family homes. This is my beginning goal, with plans in the future to expand and learn more about the real estate world.

I'm looking forward to networking and meeting with others, and would love to have an experienced mentor who wouldn't mind taking me under there wing to learn first hand. If there's one thing I know, you can read a million books and watch a thousand videos, but unless you have the experience first hand, its very difficult to truly learn.

It's my pleasure to be on here, and if you're from the area, please feel free to reach out to me, I truly am here to learn and would love to share what I've learned along the way as well.

Hey how are you,

 I just came across a post you wrote about Jersey City. I'm from Teaneck NJ and am currently working in downtown Jersey City. Journal Square I believe is definitely a good area. Personally I think it's too late to invest in downtown JC because it's already in the process of being developed and costs are already at a max. Journal Square hasn't fully started but small changes are taking place, and will definitely be worth while. I've been looking a little past downtown JC into the bergen/lafayette region. You're slowly starting to see small changes but the investment excitement hasn't fully transferred there yet. If interested, keep in touch. I'm new to this game as well and always looking to learn from others around me.
