Sunday, August 26 @ 1PM

Funky Buddha Brewery

1201 NE 38th St

Oakland Park, FL 33334

Hi everyone,

Although the title is directed for us Newbie's, ALL are invited, new and experienced alike. I'm a big time introvert... so I figured what better way to break that habit than to start a meetup!

This will be an easy going, informal event for anyone new to REI (like myself) to network, hang out, and have a drink with new like minded friends trying to get started in the industry! Whether you are trying to wholesale, BRRRR, FixnFlip, or really have no idea, come hang out and see how the rest of us are getting started trying to find our first deal!

If you are an experienced investor, we would love to meet and talk with you too!

We won't have a formal agenda for this meetup. Let's just talk real estate, meet fellow investors, share strategies, stories, and maybe help inspire/motivate our fellow friends on their quest.

Send me a message on here if you have any questions. Feel free to bring your friends and post below if you can attend!

See you all there,

Mitchell

@John Wijtenburg Thanks John, glad to meet another plantation native. I'm definitely working at a high level with some aggressive long term aspirations in mind (i.e. Commercial REI)

Not limit myself to anything in particular, I understand I have to start somewhere. My goal is to learn as much as I can while offering as much as I can, from the right people. If I had to pick, the property types that piqued my interest the most currently and which I'm doing the most research on are SFRs and Multi-families to wholesale/flips/rent. It feels to be the most efficient way for me to get started.

For commercial real estate, you bet I have my eyes on long term. I think that's a goal many of us aspire to, myself included. And I would hope any skills I learn, whether in commercial or in the SFR/multi-family realm, can translate into each other.

I'm very impressed (and a bit intimidated) by your history and and work with Colliers International! Is there anything I'd be able to assist you with? Perhaps we can talk a little more over PM.

This is great, we got a LOT of great feedback! Will put up an official meetup date and time very soon. Right now we're looking at end of August, maybe into the first week or so of September just so we can get everyone in on our first meet. But thanks again everyone for commenting in and messaging me. This feels like the start of something great! Can't wait to meet and grow with everyone.

Independence Title: Met these guys at the BREIA Shark Tank event last week. Knowledgeable guys and definitely investor friendly. They mentioned they work with Wholesalers all the time and deal with assignment of contracts, double closes, etc. Give them a call.

I miss Gainesville. I went to school there for 4 years. Weather was HOT in the summer, COLD in the winter (but no snow). Never really had any issues with hurricanes up there, pretty sure it hasn't really been hit in the past 20 years from what I can remember.

I would love to hear from our South Florida investors on which approach has worked best for you in getting some leads.  Whether it'd be direct mailing, cold calling, door knocking, social media, or word of mouth.  What works and what doesn't?  How much do you typically spend on marketing a month?  Is it better to stay with one strategy or should you always diversify your approach?

I would love to hear your story.

We have found that bandit signs and direct mail is almost useless down here- therefore we committed to social media at a very high level and have generated a lot of business that is untapped by using Instagram and Facebook ORGANICALLY...

That's a great tip about using social media down here. That's unfortunate about your direct mail results. May I ask what type of leads did you campaign to and roughly what was your response rate?
