I have a small fund of passive investments & most of the work is either raising capital, funding the best ones out of thousands of different opportunities where comparing returns isn’t apples to apples or necessarily simple or doing the due diligence once you find them & then executing & keeping up with them. I try to put in at least 20 hours per week whether the payoff is immediate or not or even apparent.

Beau, I really resonate with your comment.  I have just barely made anything on silver in last 5 years & also do a lot with crypto & real estate. I don’t do stocks at all & am 90% real estate with the bulk being mobile home parks & lease to own & apartments.  I really appreciate the discussion everyone & encourage you to connect with me even if you think I’m bias or just screaming Chicken little.  I’m amused that this was the #1 trending post of the weekend!

I’m familiar with Stansberry too as well as Stockman, Harry Dent, etc. I do think we will have deflation first then later turning towards heavy inflation. I actually dislike negative outlooks without a real reason, but we have plenty of facts & reason to back up that case today. Many people won’t really consider it & call it Chicken Little because of media & past experience etc. I know Peter Schiff has a very poor track record investing but I don’t discredit his economic outlook & believe he will do well in metals & alternatives when the next recession hits. I sat at same table with David Stockman in Houston last year when his new book came out & follow all of this & cryptos & metal closely...

Edward, no one can predict the exact timing. It’s the principle & sound money that matters & no human/government intervention. That’s what the Austrian school is all about.

Chinmay, I would say that sitting on the sidelines is not wise either unless you can’t find a legitimately good opportunity which for a 1st timer with no experience could be quite a challenge in this market without a mentor or being open to out of state & cash flow investing versus appreciation big city bets. I am definitely not sitting on the sidelines despite my very legitimate fear that the dollar will collapse & the FED won’t be able to bail us out again & paper over losses like we did post 2008. They have lost all credibility after 2008 & this time will be different. It’s the Keynesian experiment taken too the most dangerous depths of disaster!

I think the best way to prepare besides prepping is to invest wisely use little leverage or at least use it as wisely as possible with the best managers & deals & buy metals & crypto. That’s about all one can do. I won’t bury my head in the sand & quit doing business whatsoever. If anything it should make you a better & wiser investor!

Hey Derek. That is true as I’ve been following this for many years since the 2008 crisis & am a student of economic history going all the way back to tulip mania in Holland in the 1600’s. I want to post a public forum where people can openly & honestly discuss it & share & hopefully back up different viewpoints.

To be honest to an Austrian the one thing people want is timing & while it can be relatively predicted it’s never exact & can more easily be seen in retrospect. As Peter Schiff says I would rather be wrong, wrong, wrong continually & eventually proven right than be right all along & eventually in the end proven dead wrong.

I’m not a Trump fan & realize that the King of Debt is just extending things as Hillary would have already helped us find the bottom. And I agree about their being nothing to buy unless you’re in mobile home parks or lease to own. I think Trump will watch the dollar fall & the trade war & budget deficits are only the beginning. I personally wrote in Rand Paul & would do so again.

Ola, I like your perspective & have done what I can to prepare. That’s about all we can do. And an economic crash may be bad but it doesn’t mean the sky is falling.
