Hey @Brett Baginski, I agree with @Justin Fraser. Come on out to the SJREIA meetups. Justin runs a great meetup in Princeton, and there are tons of other investors there to connect with. Good Luck!

Thanks for the advice @Matthew Irish-Jones,

I liked the idea of hiring one local contractor for all maintenance but its seems that in my area its as hard to find that local contractor as it is to find a good PM company.  The PM company that I talking with now has a nice list of licensed and insured vendors that they have vetted and built a relationship with. Time will tell.

Thanks for weighing in @Alan Eisenberg & @Ryan Scott Isacksen,

I am in the process of vetting a few PM companies now. The idea of hiring a W2 PM/personal assistant proved to be more trouble than its worth. It took me a while to find PM companies that I like but I believe I may have found a couple that might be a good fit. I've also acquired a few more doors which will give me some leverage in negotiating rates.

Thanks for the reply @Craig Bellot.

I totally agree. I need to stop wasting time being a landlord and focus on being an investor.

Hi @Alison Evans,

I wish you the best! The realtor friend of mine didn’t work out. I’m now vetting a property management company that seems to be a good fit. I sent you a pm if you’d like to contact me to hear more about my situation.

Good question @Tim Greenfield

Predominantly I’m wondering what are the best places to live within the states, but I’ve heard great things about panama, and I’d love to here of any other great places to live in or out of our great nation.

Hey @Carl Fischer, I also can't wait to see the answers. I'm looking to hear people's experience with thier self directed IRA,s , the fees they incur & and the customer service they receive.

So let's get the conversation going BP members! How happy or unhappy are you with your self directed IRA company?
