Post: How to negotiate RE acquisition specialist compensation

Hi everyone!

I recently received an offer letter to start helping a local wholesaling company with acquisitions. What would be a reasonable commission to negotiate? Could I negotiate base pay? This company just started at the beginning of the year and I will be the third addition as an IC. They’ve offered 10% commission on any deal I have a part in procuring and no base pay. Any help or advice from seasoned investors would be highly appreciated as I have to make a decision soon!!!! Thanks!!

@Javen Bowman

Not sure if this has been said yet but read Brandon Turner’s book on How to Invest in Real Estate with No (and Low) Money Down! Soooo informative! And yes, it’s possible. It just might take more time and effort to learn than other traditional financing

Hello everyone! I recently joined BP in hopes to learn how to do my first deal. I recently graduated college with a business marketing degree and plan to buy my first property before I'm 23. I've always been interested in real estate and when I found out about this wonderful community of like-minded people it drew me in even more! I'd love to connect with others in the Fargo Moorhead and surrounding areas!

Cheers!

Marissa

Hi everyone! I've been digging in to learn as much as I possibly can about real estate. I'm trying to figure out my specific niche and strategy for my goals and where I'm at in life right now. I originally wanted to start by house hacking and then get into BRRRR, but now I'm interested in learning more about wholesaling. I recently graduated college with a business marketing degree and am planning on using real estate as my side gig until I build it up enough to not need an 8-5. I want real estate to provide me with more options in life so I won't be tied down by a job/career that I don't love. I don't have much savings and student loan payments are going to start kicking in relatively soon. I'm seeking advice on how other investors would start out in my situation. I've never posted on here before so hopefully I'm doing this right!
