I have done short term (weekly) rentals in the Lakes region of New Hampshire. I think the regulations really depend on where you buy (need to check HOA regulations). VRBO, Homeaway or AirBnB can be good places ot check in your area for popular places, timeframe and weekly rental amounts. Important to know the regulations but also do the spreadsheet math to make sure it works. Good luck!

@Neal Collins great info thanks. For salmon area do you mean the Wyers End project?  I will definitely check it out

I am going to visit the Portland, Oregon area early August and would love to network with other real estate developers or investors that have a knowledge of developing Pocket Neighborhoods or have worked on projects with prefab tiny homes.  Thanks in advance for any leads of the right contacts to network with.

This owner is an activist and took mortgage company to Supreme Court. Will offer cash for keys but highly unlikely will take it. Just trying to figure out what coverage I can get so he doesn’t try to sue me to be vengeful

I am going to close on my first REO in my name. The owner is still in there and I will have to evict them (guessing will take 1-2mths). They are not likely to take cash for keys (but will try). I called my agent and they said I might be able to get liability ( in case this person tries to sue me) but I can't get coverage for the house until this old owner is out if the house. Is that common? The agent said I can't get builders insurance bc I have to assure them work starts 30 days from closing. Any advice or past experience appreciated

Great thanks - Title365 is stated vendor and I believe they are pretty standard to do Title Insurance.  Let me know if anyone has had problems with them.  Thanks for all the great advice!
