I am an Aussie investor and have been investing in the US market now for approximately 4 years. I am headed over to Detroit for November and there for the month this time (this will be my 6th trip). Would like to know if there are any REIA meetings or similar in Detroit that I would be able to attend in the month of November?

 Oh Brilliant Marisa, I didn't realise you were from Australia!  Fantastic to see how well you have been able to do over there, a credit to you.  We are based in the bayside suburbs of Melbourne.  I love the US market, particularly Detroit, have been involved there for a few years now.  Actually over there again in November for 4 weeks.  Are you based in Atlanta or in Detroit now?  Could catch up if your in Detroit at all?

Hi Marisa,

Looks like a nice deal.  The good thing with Bagley is I believe there is still room for the prices to grow as well, so for the mean time you get good rental income, and some capital growth as well...win/win!

I like Bagley as an area, but not easy to get property in there now

Best of luck!  It certainly can work and you are correct in that a property manager can make all the difference!  I have been working in the Detroit region for over 3 years now.  If you have any problems, let me know, I have quite a network there now that are happy to work with us Aussies :)
