@Jarrod Cook

Hi Jarrod

We are real estate investors in the Detroit region and have a few properties in Birmingham.  We are also out of town (in fact out of country!) but have a fantastic agent in the area I am happy recommend.  Message me and I can send you through her details

Best of luck!

Lindsay

Hi Satish

Zillow I find OK, but as Thomas as noted, i have a great realtor in the area who has set up an MLS search for me and sends me through properties that meet my criteria. They will not charge you for this, and should not charge you to do due diligence on any of the properties on this list as they are acting as a buyers agent for you and will get their commissions if/when you purchase any.

One of the best ways also though, I have found is to get on other wholesale investors databases and they send out deals as they find them.  Some of the best deals i have done were found by other wholesale investors :)

Cheers

Lindsay

Hi Luke

Hows the investing going?  I am also an investor from Melbourne doing some investments currently in a couple of areas in the US.  Good luck with it all! :)

@Tom Ott

haha Indeed it is Tom.  Been quite an eye opener.  Great to see such a site geared towards investors.  Such a great tool.  AU is great, we have our challenges here as I guess any market does.  Very different creature though to what you have there in US.  Property prices here are extremely high, particularly in the citites, little harder to find the deals, but they are there

Cheers

@Federico Gutierrez

Hi Federico

I have been able to visit Detroit a couple of years ago and do plan another trip within the next few months.  Cant say I "know " the area, but fully aware of the dichotomy of the place.

Cheers

How are you planning on getting funding? Bringing your cash from Aus you'll lose 30% on the trade instantly so you need to account for that lose. Then check the double tax treaty between US and AUS, don't want to make either the IRS or the ATO angry by not giving them their share. Then again explain how you're moving massive amounts of cash to either party.

You've got  lot of obstacles in your way, Being an Aussie I'm here to assist but talk to attorneys and accountants first. Gain an understanding what you are jumping into tax and legal wise

Hi Federico

Seems to be plenty of deals available in MI for sure.  More than I can handle myself.  As for the rest of your questions, without drilling down to deep into the details which I am not sure this is the forum for, the processes are quite simple actually once set up right.  Yes there is definitely a loss up front on the exchange rate (and getting worse) but there is then the upside on profits made in US dollars back to AU dollars :)

Blake,

Open to other markets for sure.  Conscious on not spreading myself too thin though, but also only just learning the different markets in the US

@Account Closed

Thanks James.  If I can be of any assistance with your coins as well, please let me know :)

Happy to chat, focused primarily on SFR's. I have never been to Florida yet either, but hoping to do a trip there later this year!

Cheers

@Blake Brose

Hey Blake. Currently focusing on SFR's for fix and flip, down the track will look more on the buy and hold for cashflow for sure though

Cheers
