Hi Patrick, were you able to find a good electrician on your own?  I am currently looking for someone to do a possible re-wire of a house.

@Steven N. Know of any good general contractors here in Charleston?

I am starting out in real estate investing and would like to sit down with a real estate attorney who is possibly an investor themselves or is familiar with real estate investments. I'd like to discuss such things such as buying properties under an LLC, lease agreements, evictions, etc. I have seen similar discussions on Bigger Pockets in the past but am looking for an updated list if possible.

Obviously every property is a different situation that needs to be evaluated but I'd like to find out why it seems most people prefer to take a home down to the studs and renovate versus completely tearing down the property and building a new home.  What are the advantages/disadvantages of each approach?

Hi Kevin,

I went to FSU for mechanical engineering.  Glad to hear you love it here as much as I do.  I would be interested in speaking about those flips. How long have you been flipping?

I joined BiggerPockets after listening to a few financial podcasts about retirement. I now plan to retire early on real estate investments. I am in the early stages of figuring out exactly which path I would like to start with, but am leaning towards the BRRRR method.

I am 32 and own my own home in lovely Charleston, SC. I currently work as an Engineer which makes very organized and has afforded me the skills to approach problems in a systematic way.

I have always been handy and picked up even more skills by volunteering for Habitat for Humanity over the years.  I am currently renovating my bathroom (by myself and with a little help from friends) and will tackle my kitchen next.

The abilities that I have obtained through my day job and hobbies will make me a successful real estate investor or partner.
