I invest in Lynchburg and have found that Mickey Herzing is a good local real estate agent who also invests. Good Luck!

Hi Michael,

I am glad that my input helped! Yes Lynchburg is a lovely town and getting better...they are revitalizing the downtown river front which is very exciting!

I dont attend any of the local meetups as I am in Maryland.

We have been investing in Lynchburg for about 3 years...we love it. We are targeting the student population, buying condos and renting them our per room. We are buy and hold so our strategy is different however I think as a city to invest in Lynchburg is great..it is growing and Liberty University is just one of many employers (but it is huge and it is not going anywhere so it is driving massive growth) We look at other areas but we coming back to Lynchburg. I also think that one could do very well doing Airbnb in Lynchburg as there is always a huge need for part time housing and visitors accommodations, again, due to Liberty.

My son is thinking of buying his first home in Saint Robert MO...he is active duty military but will most likely get out very soon and the property will then be a rental...does anyone have experience in Saint Robert? If so, where is the best place to invest? He would also need a property manager after he leaves...any good ones out there?

Thanks!

@ Chris Seveney,

Yes that is what I was telling Kaleem who asked the question...We lived in Howard County for 20 years but did not invest there...

Very different Counties and you will pay a premium for Howard County...you might look in Savage as it is a bit cheaper than the rest of Howard County...I dont know much about PG County other than it is going to be much cheaper.

Hi Sarah,

We are moving back to MD after living in SC for 3 years...we lived in Dayton,MD for 12 years and various other parts of Howard County before that...the home we are buying now is in Catonsville. I had a contractor when we lived in Dayton but I wasn't really happy with him...he was never on time, and the costs always went way over the original quote..I mean really high! So I wont be using him anymore and I don't want to rec. him....to find my next contractor I am going to ask for input on the local community forum....I found that when I did that in SC I was given some great names...maybe you could give that a try? I joined the Catonsville group on Facebook, I am sure there will be Howard County groups etc.

Just bought a property in Catonsville, ( we looked in Howard and Anne Arundel too) from what I can tell the market is very good...I dont think you will have a problem selling the properties.
