How do you go about searching for a mentor? I thought about the "natural" approach but know little that I do, I'm sure they can catch on that I would be seeking the knowledge they have experienced, by my series of questions.

I don't want to come off creepy or unwanted while searching. A few companies I know come to mind in some people I've been following by online or stories I heard of them.

Though I just need a little advice on how to ask someone nicely "hey can I pick your brain" :-)

Awesome! You will reach your goal. How did it go? What were your positives and negatives of your walk?

@angel, I was thinking of this earlier today @ work, I was asking myself do I combined my talents with my art and real estate or keep them seperate. I have business cards now but its for my art business. Then me as a beginner a professional told me most people today dont use business cards anymore, they might just ask to text or email info. I'm a little old fashion, I rather give them my card than look for a pen and paper or texting. I believe seperate is best for now, and for myself my photo with a phrase or just "real estate" something, I myself will start off small but something better than none.

Hello Everyone I'm Latoya!

Originally from Brooklyn, NY Looking to Learn, Strive, and Multiply... and Help others along the way.

I always had a small business here and there while growing up (cleaning company, food services, visual artist)... knowing the regular 9 to 5 would never meet my true happiness of unconditional freedom. Now talking baby, small, medium to large steps on educating myself further into the real estate industry.

I am loving the networking done here on Bigger Pockets so far, its becoming my new FB ;-)

I'm seeking knowledge of all kinds the bad & of course the good to gain more knowledge on this business becoming an Investor.

I have an open thought of the business though , wondering why people did not get into this real estate investing business before rather than now ..? Does Bigger Pockets have an APP?

Myself, well no one I knew was involved and never seen this topic in college lol Recently discovered "Passive" income and already love dealing with homes in every way. I tried the sign him and her up, and continuing company's made good money but people always tend to fall off the pyramid unless its a necessity of life.

I totally agree with you @Thomas Culbreath, I'm @ my 9 to 5 now reading and reading, but I know going out in the field will be the big move. As I read from many things online and Bigger Pockets Networking is much Key. I feel like I'm getting it but not until I meet others and we can discuss what I am actually reading lol. Your list helps much and seems like your going to be successful, I always say you wont win until you lose at least a few times to become a maser of your true passions.

I have a Question? For Any*

Which books do you Highly recommend, I'm going to purchase but I'm just curious if one give more information than the others on Real Estate Investing for beginners?

I was looking to pick up (for investing) "Real Estate Investing for Dummies", "Hold: How to find, buy, & rent houses for wealth, and "The ABC's of Real Estate Investing".

AND for the Business side, "Small Business for Dummies", "Small Business Kit for Dummies", and "Think and Grow Rich"

I hope they have most audio options :-)

Thanks
