The family can refuse to accept the property. That might be the best thing to do if more taxes are owed than it is worth. They should consult with a Tax Attorney who specializes in probate.

You can contact companies that sale probate leads and see if they have data for that county.

You can also purchase probate leads from several suppliers. That will save you a lot of time.

Getting probate data yourself can be so frustrating! It takes a lot of time and is tedious. But there are some great companies selling probate data to save you the hassle. Then you can focus working the leads and finding the right properties instead of spending all your time getting the leads.

Some good things to look for: a company that has been around a while, a company that works in many counties (more experienced), and a company that offers flexible purchase plans (from smaller test-drives to larger packages for people who want to invest more).
