I working out of the detroit harper woods areas also but if you DIY-er you can save some cash and just pay for labor. Laying laminate is pretty simple if you get you cuts right. I'm in the same dilemma on rather to sell my current rental im fixing up or just rent it out. If i sell it at asking I will make 25k on my first flip with all the work done myself after materials. Just weigh the numbers for your current situation and any investing you have planned in the next 6 months.

Hey name is keyonte 26 I'm just getting started in REI. I'm currently on the road to becoming financially free. I want to add about 2500 to 3k in passive income. I currently work full-time. Now I current own one rental property free and clear 100k or so in equity this property is cash flowing 351 after all expenses . I have one more property either I'm going to flip or hold depending on the market. This was 30k about a 10k rehab. I wanted to invest in the Harper woods area. Any ideas on the best way to get started and what my next steps should be? I was also looking into partnering investment opportunities .

I would stick to the shower rod and save the extra money if the quality of work and materials are good it shouldn't make a big difference.
