@Robbie Knecht  Are you mailing the postcards to the houses you noted while Driving?  What are you doing with the info you gleaned from Driving?

Hey Brian,

Love your passion to not only clean up an old house and make a profit, but to revitalize a neighborhood and a community.  If we had a lot more guys like you, our country would be in much better shape!

Keep up the good work and let's see if we can have a positive impact!

Our next meeting is this coming Thursday, Sept 3.  As always it is at 6:00pm at Pizza Ranch in Cedar Falls.

This month we are starting a new platform that will be used occasionally at our meetings.

Have you ever debated with yourself whether you should buy Single Family, Small Multifamily, Large Multifamily?  What about Commercial or Retail...?  Well, come debate with us.  Or sit in on the debate of others.  This is, of course, a friendly debate among like-minded investors.  But since many of us are passionate about our industry, we often have quite a lively group!

Come and take a side and we all will learn from each other's vantage point.

Join us in the 'Real Estate' Party Room!

Hello Seth, Welcome to BP and the RE game!

I'm an investor in W/CF, I don't know anything about the program's there at UNI, or about possible jobs by having those majors.  You need no formal education to get into RE, but there are tons of opportunities for those who do.

One thing I can say from my experience is that there is a huge glut of CPAs that are experts in RE Investing in our area. I don't know if you were planning on sticking around here, but even from what I've heard from other investors in IA, there are some really good CPAs, but none that are REI tax experts. I think there's a huge market for a guy to dominate and make a ton of money in that field.

But in whatever you do, be great at it and bank a ton of money, and stick it into real estate.  There are a ton of guys that are landlords and make a living doing it, but if you have a passion and determination to build a business that is specialized, there aren't very many players in that game.  And with the acct rules and tax regulations, there's a huge need for guys like me to use an expert to help me grow my business.  And what great networking opportunities for you to build an RE business on top of that.

Another little tip that will be crucial for your business, whether you're a CPA, a RE investor, or delivering pizzas while in school...Learn to Sell.  I don't know that UNI has much to offer in that area, but I'd pick up every book you can get your hands on.  And devour everything from Grant Cardone.

Attention all interested in chatting about Real Estate,  Another meetup is happening!

As it will be consistently, the First Thursday of the Month at 6:00pm.  At the Pizza Ranch on University in CF.  We will be in the Party Room under the name "Real Estate" - (creative, right?)  Just ask where it is when you pay for dinner...

Come hang out with us and discuss with other real estate professionals...well...whatever happens to come up.  I have no agenda at this point.  The group is new and still getting to know each other.  We will be organizing some speakers and topical discussions as the group develops, but until then, you'll just have to put up with wherever the night takes us.

The only requirement I have (other than you leave your clothes on) is that there is no selling.  This is for education and networking.  Leave your pitches and your wallet in your car.  Well...you do need to pay for dinner if you want to eat, but that's it!  I mean it!

Enough of me talking...If you're interested in coming, leave a reply.  If you have any questions, message away!

Hope to see you all there

@Shane Huff

Welcome to the neighborhood!  I've been in RE for a while, but fairly new to BP as well, but have found this site to be an amazing help.  You should definitely look up some local meetup groups in your area.  I recently started one here in Waterloo/Cedar Falls area and it has been a great way to connect personally to other investors.  You glean so much more off of listening to others talk than you could just reading posts online.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you progress!

Hello all,

I am starting up a meetup here in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Iowa area! This is fairly last minute as our first meeting will be this Thursday.
We will be meeting at the Pizza Ranch (what's more casual and laid back then that?!) at 6:00pm.

I don't have any agenda, just want to start meeting some more investors in the area and see where it takes us. I'm probably not very good on first dates, so I'll take it easy and go with the flow. To prove I'm not a good first date, I won't even buy dinner! Then I can't expect anything in return.

Let me know if you're interested in coming!

4302 University Avenue Cedar Falls, IA 50613

Party room under the name "real estate"
