@Ben Rogers

Haha so true. It’s all about a change of mind. I mean if I was already loaded this wouldn’t be so hard, but since I’m trying to get the biggest bank for my buck my mind goes in circles.

@Marcus Roberson

I am not day trading but I will say I have been lucky in my stock choices. I say luck because I’ve been in the game for so little and have not rode any waves yet. Only the one up from the crash so I’m loving it right now but I know the risk is real. I have thought of opening a day trade account just so I could have access to the funds and try to get them to grow how my Roth is. I’ll have to deal with taxes but that’s part of it.

@Steve Vaughan

I see what you are saying. Good points. San Antonio is very hot and does have good opportunities but I guess I feel like I don’t have enough experience or a trusted mentor to hop in yet. I would have to use hard money which I know sooooo many people do but the few top dogs in my area all say don’t use hard money?? They say to save and go into the first project with a partner so that’s what I’m trying to do.

@Sammie Olson

I am a teacher so we can't have a 401k from what I understand. I believe we can have a 457b or a 403b. I do not have either one of those right now. I opened up a Roth IRA with vanguard. I don't invest in mutual funds. Started off that way but felt like I wanted to try picking stocks and this year my return was great. Granted I bought in when they crashed in March so I've been riding them up. I know it is very risky to do stocks but I guess I'll learn this the hard way? Hoping not to lol

My max contribution is 6k. So it's definitely not a lot but I got the account because I liked the idea of paying taxes in the bracket I'm in now vs when I'm older. This is also not all of what I am saving or doing with my money but I was thinking it could definitely speed things up in my plan for REI. Oof so many variables, plans, and options.
