Thanks for the Rent Manager shout out @Paul Stout! Yes, Rent Manager does have a customizable CRM and we actually use this feature ourselves in the office, along with the built-in accounting features. If you have any questions regarding the CRM capabilities, feel free to send me a PM.

Eric, the best piece of advice I can give to someone looking for software is to ask for your sales rep to show you a live demo and ask questions that are relevant to your business model. You want to make sure the software will fit your business process, not the other way around. I do this with every software I evaluate for both personal or professional use and it helps narrow down my options rather quickly.

Since you are using Rent Manager, we do offer a check scanner that is fully integrated with the program. This could greatly help cut down the time needed to process and deposit checks, plus it keeps a scanned copy of the check attached to the correct tenant record.

Donald, I would highly encourage you to ask for a free trial of the software or a live demo where you can ask specific questions based on your business. While most property management software options have similar functionality, we all do things differently and this way, you should be able to receive a good comparison to what you like to use with Yardi.

Thad, with what you have listed so far, I would recommend when you are speaking with software vendors, to have them show you a live demo of the features you are looking for - maintenance, ILS/MLS, available integrations, etc. - and ask questions regarding how that feature works compared to your current processes. This should allow you to compare software much easier than if they only show you a presentation or video. Since you are growing and seem open to advice and process changes, this should also help you see what all is out there in terms of software capability and where you can continue to grow your business.
