Post: How to be an Investor Friendly Real Estate Agent

Hey everybody, I'm a pretty new real estate agent and a new real estate investor as well, working on rehabbing my first flip house. I have it in my head that I want to specialize in being an investor-friendly real estate agent. I've read the beginners ultimate guide and a lot of other things on here. My question is, what as a real estate investor do you want from your real estate agent? What things do you look for that tells you someone is an investor friendly agent? Fire away!

Awesome! My family just moved here about a year ago from St. Joseph. We love it. Small town feel, but we're not too far from the conveniences of St. Joe or Kansas City. @Laura H.

Hi @Laura H.

I'm a real estate agent and investor and I work out of Platte City. I'm a lot like you, realtor.com addict that decided to dive in, buy a flip house and renovate it, and get my real estate license. If there's any way I can help, let me know!

@eric lierz and @Ryan Denizen Hey guys, I'm a local investor and real estate agent. If you still need any help, I'd be glad to lend a hand. I'm happy to be a bird dog or your buyer's agent, and I know what to look for.

I'm an agent in the Kansas City area. Happy to help!

@Jay Hinrichs I'm eager to see how this on plays out. Pretty interesting. Keep us updated @Joshua Hardy. @Pavel Reyes Valdes Maybe the OP won't listen, maybe he will, but there will be a lot of people who look to this thread, like me, who want to learn from experienced professionals about easements. So it's good to discuss.

Holy cow! Sounds like we need the opinion of a Kentucky attorney. Bueller?... . I did find a precedent in this Kentucky court of appeals ruling. horse case. The Grantor (big property owner) was able to put up gates across an easement on his property to keep his horses in. As log as the Grantee was able to access his property, he had to put up with the gates. The existing precedent in Kentucky indicates that the mere construction of gates by the servient estate does not violate the dominant estate owner's easement rights. I'm betting the same is true for the HVAC guy using the driveway, so long as it doesn't interfere with your right of passage.

Welcome Ralph. I'm just starting out in real estate investment as well up in St. Joseph, MO. I've spent a lot of time on here reading articles and looking on the forums. There's invaluable information, kind of like having thousands of mentors you can consult on any topic of interest. If you ever get up this way, give me a shout. I'd love to hear about your rental experiences. Are you sticking to the Columbia area?

Hey Sam, welcome to the site. I'm pretty new to this too and learning as I go, but the articles and podcast here have been invaluable to me. I close the deal on my first flip house in a couple weeks. Let me know if you are ever in the St. Joe area.
