@Russell Brazil

My Passive income Goal is 10k a month to retire from actively working a day job (unless I want to :) and then 1.25mil per year passively. That I could retire on, vagabonding, laughing and choosing the better path.

Josiah

@Alexander Roeschmann

Hey,

The main difference between ‘08 and ‘20 is that in ‘08 the mistake came from big mortgage companies using the lower prices provided by the government. That caused a wave of bad lending and people who shouldn’t have qualified for houses, buying them.

On the other hand, this recession is not being caused by poor standards, or greedy businesses or over investing, (Animal spirits as our current economic system would define it).

No it was caused by something on the outside, that was not truly on people for making a mistake.

It seems like the biggest lesson from this crash is that savings are quite important.

Just my two cents

Best,

Josiah

Hey, one of the things that keep people from going is they get stuck not making offers, my thinking just go for the offer. Finding deals is a funnel, so get as many into the pipe line as possible.

@Alex Merkel

Hey, just a quick recommendation.

The book, “Set for Life” by Scott Trench talks about this same kind of roadblock. I would highly encourage it as an educational and interesting read. Personally, I’m not going to college and instead getting into commission sales, a high income skill. This will help me fund real estate without simply going to a job with no upside.

Hey, a phenomenal BP Podcast episode that solves this exact issue is #077. One of my favorite episodes and gives exact language to use when talking to motivated sellers.

Such as, ‘Is that the best you can do?’

‘Sound fair enough?’

Or ‘Could you see yourself doing better?’

Just my thoughts.

@Adam Serdula

Hey, Adam.

I’m 17 as well and am not planning on going to college after high school.

I think the best thing to be doing, is to study up on what it means for you to be successful, identify your motivation and reasons for getting up. Once, you have that down, the specific knowledge about Real Estate and investing will worry about itself. I would highly recommend, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey or Millionaire Success Habits by Dean Grazio, as great books to create positive lifestyle habits and create a foundation of meaning.

Just my two cents

@Tanya F.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to write such a helpful response. I agree with what you said about the end goal. How real estate can help fuel other passions. Personally, real estate and business in general, are really what get me excited the most ( okay, maybe sports more), and I specifically love planning and preparing. I jumped at the idea of lower priced college because I believe the networking, experience and (I’ll admit) education would be kinda nice and something that I would enjoy. But, I believe with my love of learning. a little bit of discipline and a small group of likeminded people, I will continue learning and growing. Choosing classes which I’m truly motivated to learn, not forced to by the school system. Also, I think YouTube is a very good opportunity to create money, while adding value to people. Thanks again, I’d kinda like to connect, you seem intelligent and wisdom(full).

@George W.

Thanks for help, do you think that these other careers ie plumber, offer a value towards real estate. With the contractor job it seems that a person could gain a broad understanding of repairs to a house. But, with plumbing and electrical it’s so niche that a person almost only knows that area. Did that make sense?
