There's certain restrictions on FHA properties. I believe they are limited to 4 unit properties and less. My current lender won't consider lending on anything higher than 3 units though(I'm not sure why or if this is even legit.) There is also a spending limit and certain safety guidelines that have to be met for each property. FHA really expands on my potential for investment properties as a first-time buyer but there's definitely some hoop jumping involved

#21 by monicadesigns gets my vote. It's pretty sleek looking and fits the Texas persona well

@Ben Leybovich count me in as well. It's worth the drive. I'm looking at purchasing my first investment property and I think there is much to be learned from you guys! Quite a coincidence that my Wife and I were just listening to Podcast show 14 yesterday. I'm quite inspired by your story Ben

I'm in PA but I'm seriously tempted to come out. It's about 5 hours but I'm 100% sure it's worth the drive

There's a wealth of knowledge on here to begin with. Start by reading RE books and listening to the podcast. Good luck in your search for a mentor!

I definitely agree that it isn't necessary, but I think any little bit helps. I also wouldn't mind working in the same field as what I invest in, so I can gain more knowledge and experience about RE in general.  I also have very little capital to start with and would like to start building more income. The course is around $300-$400 so it's not a huge loss if I take the class and never pursue it. Thoughts?

Hey everyone, I'm currently a poker dealer in Pittsburgh, PA but I would like to take online classes to become an Agent here in PA. Hopefully being an agent will help me along in my Investor journey.

Does anyone have an online class that they could recommend? Kaplan is the first one that pops up on google when I search REA courses. I live in Somerset, PA and there aren't any nearby classroom courses to take. I'm having trouble finding any reviews for the classes that's why I'm asking on here. Thanks so much for any information guys!

I'm still working on it! Lol
