Hello I live in Florida, age 24 and thinking about buying my first home. I have been saving cash from working for about a year now. With the market being hot at the moment would it not be ideal to buy my first home? Cities I am looking into are Plant City or Lakeland. Any recommendations?

@Sharad M. Thanks for the response! I always thought about living in a building with more than 1 unit so I can rent it out. Definitely an idea I will consider.

Ok. I'm currently 19 years old and attending college and soon I would like to begin real estate; once I feel comfortable to start. However, I always wanted to relocate out of state after college (which will be 6 years later; getting a master degree in Computer Engineer) and I'm sure I could begin investing in real estate during my college years. However, since I plan on relocating, should I just hold on to my savings and make investments later once I move? Or, should I start soon and get some profit in and then sell my investments when the homes appreciate. (I plan on doing buy & hold by the way)

Your thoughts?

OH I see. Ok thanks for the help. I thought it was a purchase of the full duplex.

Wait. I understand what you guys mean now. The cheaper one is practically only one room. Which means it really isn't a duplex? How can someone own a duplex and sell one of the home separately?

@Shawn Torsitano Ok. What if I wanted to purchase the cheaper one and live in the vacant room? Then it could be a good potential deal because I'm taking up one of the room and renting out the other?

Oh wow. You're right. I didn't think that can be such a huge factor in the price differences.. could it?

I was browsing through Zillows website in search for duplexes. I found two duplexes which the price difference between the two is a vast amount but in a confusing way (Confusing for me). The cheaper duplex has a more appealing view in a well kept neighborhood than the more expensive one. The more expensive one seems to me would be worth way less.

(NOTE: I'm currently learning real estate, so I went on Zillows to learn the prices of duplexes in my area)

Here is the links for the duplexes:

The Ugly one : Duplex - $279,000

The Attractive one: Duplex - $135,000

Do you need a real estate license?

Is realtor.com reliable for market trends? Will it help me determine when is it a good time to buy, and when is it a good time to sell?
