Question on when I should start Real Estate.

Ok. I'm currently 19 years old and attending college and soon I would like to begin real estate; once I feel comfortable to start. However, I always wanted to relocate out of state after college (which will be 6 years later; getting a master degree in Computer Engineer) and I'm sure I could begin investing in real estate during my college years. However, since I plan on relocating, should I just hold on to my savings and make investments later once I move? Or, should I start soon and get some profit in and then sell my investments when the homes appreciate. (I plan on doing buy & hold by the way)

Your thoughts?

Hi Joseph,

You are very start to be starting at such a young age. I envy you. I really wish I had started out a lot sooner.

If you are going to be in the area for at least 6 years finishing your school and have means to purchase a property, I would look into purchasing a 2-4 unit building and I would live in 1 unit and rent out the others and have the tenants pay for the expenses and than 6 years later, you can either keep it or sell it and move your investments to another area.

Best wishes for your future success.

Sharad
