My brokerage is located in Pittsburgh, and the trend that I've seen recently is a lot of former renters switching over to flipping properties instead. This market is definitely easier to get into though compared to others.

Christian, welcome to the Pittsburgh investment market! I am a local agent here at an investment brokerage, and would love to connect for any future deals you may be looking to purchase. One thing though is that there are requirements coming into effect soon where wholesalers will need to get their license in PA for any properties that they wholesale, so you might want to look into that before it becomes official!

Hey Renee! Pittsburgh is a great market to get started investing in. My best advice would be to study up on what areas you think you want to target beforehand, so that when you get here, you're ready to go! If you're thinking you're going to be getting into rentals, areas like Bellevue, Brookline, and Mt. Washington might be of interest to you. Flips you might be interested in Carnegie, Plum, or Washington. Lock down a plan, and be prepared to execute when you get here! Happy to connect as I am an agent here in the city.

Hey JR, I work for New Western, and we have a network of contractors and property managers that I can get you set up with! Please feel free to connect if you want that contact info.

Late to the party here, but I'd be happy to connect with you and your friend! The investment brokerage I work for has connections to professionals all across real estate, so if you guys need anything, please reach out!

Susan, hopefully by now you've locked up a property or two and things are going well! I am a local agent here in the city, and if you or your team need help with finding local professionals, please reach out!

Ashley, house hacking is a great way to get started in REI in Pittsburgh! My best tip would be to pick an area that you have done research on and that you think will be a good rental market. Also, you guys will have to decide what you're willing to put into the home. Are you going to be purchasing a rent ready multifamily that will be more expensive? Or are you open to buying something that needs some rehab for cheaper? I work with an investment brokerage here in Pittsburgh, happy to connect!

Awesome! I am looking to get my first property and house hack myself, as it's such a good way to get started in REI. If you need help with finding contractors or connections with other professionals in the area, I'm happy to connect.

I agree with the rest of the insight saying to just educate yourself as much as possible on owning rentals. By now, hopefully you've got some tenants in there and everything is going smoothly. I'd love to hear how your experience was!

Andrew, did your rehab #'s shake out as expected? Also, being out of state, was it difficult getting a team together to get this project done? Seems like everything came together pretty well for you!
