Quote from @Jay Jules:

Who's looking for distressed off-market properties in SC? I'm an agent with an investment brokerage in Greenville, SC. We get 15-20 properties a month throughout South Carolina. If you'd be interested in a new source of properties, let's connect!

Feel free to add me to the list for the upstate area. Thanks

Quote from @Tomas Nuno:

Thank you Bob for the advice. Definitely good insight when building partnerships. Do you also invest in SC?

Hey @Tomas Nuno  I live and invest in the upstate.  Are you looking to flip, do rentals, Airbnb? You should try to pick a path to focus on because there are so many ways to invest in real estate. I focus on rentals and flips. I have some single family, small multi and a small mobile home park. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. If you ever have time take a vacation to upstate sc. it’s a great area with a lot of great people. Also helps to understand the area you want to invest in. Good luck

Quote from @Kenyon Johnson:

Are there any REI networking groups/events in Upstate South Carolina area?

@Kenyon Johnson there’s a lot of good groups in Greenville  one post here in biggerpockets, search upstate creia, they have a big meeting 3rd Monday of the month and smaller meeting too throughout the month. If your on fb search Greenville real estate investors. Let me know if you can’t find any. Good luck

Hey @Ashley Murray. Welcome to sc. what brings y’all to this coast?
There’s really no way to avoid the taxes if you plan on flipping. The best u can do is keep good records and receipts for all the write offs. I’m in upstate sc so our market is a little different then the Columbia area, but I’ve heard there’s some good areas and some not so good. I’ve heard there’s some pretty good meetups in that area also. There’s some really great people on bp that will probably reply soon. Good luck

Quote from @Sanford Myers:

@Cole Oraham Thanks for the input. It’s nice to hear from someone who knows our area with all of its benefits and challenges.

@Sanford Myers I also live in the upstate  there are a lot of opportunities in our area. It’s hard to pick one lane. I have done some flips, have a small mobile home park, duplex and some sf rentals. I would suggest to pick a short term goal, 3-6 months . Which lane will get u to that goal in ur time frame. U can figure out whichever lane u start in. U can switch lanes later. The only important thing is to start. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or just want to talk real estate.  Have a great day

@Marwan Rollison if you look in the meetup section on bigger pockets u will find one of the local Greenville meetups. They should have a meeting coming up the first week in February. Great group of people there too.

@Marwan Rollison welcome back to the upstate. As the other post mentioned. Check out the fb pages and upstate creia. There’s a meeting Monday night if ur free. Opens at 6 and meeting starts at 7. Some of the local guys are talking about getting leads and following up. It’s a great way to start building some relationships. I’ll probably be going to the meeting so if u have any questions just reach out. Good luck.

@Chelsea Thomason I have most of my rentals in Piedmont, williamston and Belton. I’m actually going to Anderson in the morning to look at some properties. There’s a good upstate creia meeting going on Monday night in Greenville.

@Blaine Watson  I would think in the beginning I would do the rookie boot camp first to get a good foundation going then jump into str. I’m sure there are people that have done str first and have done great at it. In real estate everything just depends. How much time, money and risk tolerance you have. The most important step is to start. Just my 2 cents 😁 good luck in either direction.
@Chelsea Thomason what part of the upstate are you looking in? I also invest in upstate sc.
