Hello everyone,

The next sfvREI meetup will be on July 24th at Islands Burgers 14141 Ventura Blvd Sherman Oaks, CA 91423.

I'm currently in Florida looking at several real estate projects, including syndications, short term rentals, mobile home parks and multifamily properties. Can't wait to compare notes with everyone!

Please RSVP to [email protected]

See you soon,

John

@Frank Rolfe Great info! Does the conversation go something like this? "Mr./Mrs. tenant, you're paying $750 a month in rent,  which includes the lot rent AND home rent...I'll give you the home for free**, and only charge $400 a month in lot rent, but you'd be responsible for the upkeep/maintenance of the trailer. So you'll be saving $350 a month minus any repair costs, but as long as you're not kicking holes in the wall for fun, the repairs/upkeep cost should be more than reasonable.

**Or sell for a lump sum

Hey Matthew, I just started a meetup in the SFV, I might also be doing a Gardena based meetup as well. What part of the South Bay are you in?

Nice to meet you,

John

Hi everyone, I received four phone calls this week on my direct mail campaign. I'm expecting a few more calls next week. I'm triaging each phone call to see which ones can wait until I'm in Florida next month and which ones I'd have to act on while I'm in California.

@James Gates How did the meet up go? I just started one in the Valley. Our next meeting is the the 19th. When is your next meetup I'd love to come!

@DJ Cespedes Nice! Keep me informed. I'm especially interested in short term rentals in Latin American countries.

@Hanah Frickers Sounds good Hanah, where are you from originally?

Hey everyone,

I'm sitting here in beautiful Van Nuys, CA stuffing envelopes for some direct mailing in Florida. I'm wondering what everyone else is doing today to help grow their out of state portfolio. I grew up in Florida and have family members that can look at properties for me while I'm in California.

@Samuel Chua Try getting a real estate/finance based job in Singapore to help build up your business contacts. After a few years, come to the USA with a network of high net-worth colleagues ready to invest with you in US-based real estate..

Post: MHP - Forcing equity by adding homes

I'm looking at some MHPs that seem to have room for new units. For instance 10 acres but only 5 homes. I'd like to add 2-3 more homes to force equity/appreciation. Does anyone have experience in doing this? I'm wondering how difficult this would be. Not sure if I have to deal with city permits, planning offices etc.. in addition to getting the homes put on site, getting them sold etc..

I'm already looking into getting my dealers license to make things go smoother in the long run..
