@Kevin Manz the key is buying right! haven't come across anything that meets my criteria as of yet. I have capital to invest now. I am looking for buy and holds locally in Muncie and I know a few people in the burbs of Detroit making some good money. I guess what I am looking for is some inside as to neighborhoods that are doing well there. I was born and raised in Detroit till I was 16 my parents and sister still live there so I have other ties and contacts that could help in the future.

So I was flipping successfully in San Antonio TX and we moved midwest to be closer to family. I wish I could continue to work in TX but the last flip I spent way to much time away from my wife and kids. Currently we live in Muncie IN and I know I am out of luck here for flips. I am looking for deals in the suburbs of Detroit I have a few contacts there family friends but I am looking for a starting point of a area. Any advice or contacts is welcome.

Thanks in advance

Joe

Great info Scott! We are right down the street from Ball State I think I want to get my feet wet here first... I have two little ones and my wife works crazy hours and with my first few rentals I want to be hands on. At the moment that is my approach I am sure it will change before I figure out what I want to do. My goal for this year is to acquire 5 -10 rentals. I deffently see myself venturing out once I get a feel for the land lording.

Cheers,

Joe

So I was successfully doing Flips in SA and we moved our family to Muncie IN (because of wife's job) I did one flip while family was in IN and I was in TX and it was hard to be separated from them with two little girls that are growing so fast. I am leaving behind some good contacts and would like share if anyone is serious. To give you a little background I would GC my own flips as a full time job it was hard but it was very rewarding, if I could be of help in anyway I would be happy too. If you are serious about it I have a few contacts that might help you get started. PM me if you are serious. Cheers

Just wanted to introduce myself... I am living in Muncie Indiana my wife and 2 kids moved to Muncie a little over a year ago from San Antonio Tx. I was flipping homes in the San Antonio market I had started out working with a home flipper GC'ing flips I got about 15 gut rehabs under my belt before I attempted my first on myself. I did two very successful flips but then we moved for my wife job and to be closer to family. Now I am starting from scratch and from the looks of what Muncie has to offer it is much different than what I was used to in SA. My current plan is buy and hold rentals, I am new to the landlord game I have turned to bigger pockets for answers. I am looking forward to participating and as well find  good people to help me with my next adventure.
